Competition: Gay Icons & Rose d’Anjou Wine

I have a real treat for you for this weeks giveaway!

The lovely people at Rosé d’Anjou Wines and This Little Lady Went to London have got together to offer readers a great opportunity to win a case of lovely off-dry rosé wines and visit Gay Icons, a brilliant exhibition at London’s National Portrait Gallery.

National Portrait GalleryRosé d’Anjou is a salmon-coloured, off-dry rosé wine produced by winemakers from France’s Loire Valley. Attractive on the nose, with lots of fresh red fruit and subtle hints of mint and white pepper, it’s made very often from a blend of Grolleau and Cabernet Franc grapes. A versatile and accessible wine, it’s perfect with a whole range of foods: from ham sandwiches to lobster and quails’ eggs.  It also goes perfectly with Asian cuisine, as well as cold meats, chicken, barbecues and a host of salads.  Rosé d’Anjou wines are the perfect complement to the exhibition, as they appeal to a broad range of wine drinkers – from every walk of life.

Joe Orton by Lewis Morley 1965 National Portrait Gallery, London © Lewis Morley Archive / National Portrait Gallery, LondonGay Icons explores gay social and cultural history through the unique personal insights of ten high profile gay figures who have selected their icons.  The chosen icons, who may or may not be gay themselves, have all been important to each selector, having contributed to making them who they are today. They include artists Francis Bacon and David Hockney; writers Daphne du Maurier and Quentin Crisp; musicians k.d. lang, the Village People and Will Young; entertainers Ellen DeGeneres, Lily Savage and Kenneth Williams; sports stars Martina Navratilova and Ian Roberts and political activists Harvey Milk, Nelson Mandela and Angela Mason. The exhibition runs until 18 October 2009.

Visitors to the Gallery can also enjoy a refreshing glass of Rosé d’Anjou at the National Portrait Gallery Restaurant.

How to enter: As always, I’ve kept it simple for you. All you have to do to get your chance to win a case of wine + tickets to the Gay Icons expo is to comment below with the words: I love Rosé d’Anjou!

Competition closes at midnight on Sunday 4th October. Winner chosen at random.
