Dougal has found himself a Florence. Literally.
It’s really one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. There we are, on our morning walk every day, his royal scruffiness thinking he owns the park, his silly tail wagging and his floppy ears dangling on the ground.
And there she is, with her silky smooth coat, bouncing along at the same pace, her stocky little puppy legs driving her through the dandelions.
You meet lots of people dog walking. I find myself getting in conversations with strangers about the little rascal that is Dougal, my 6 month old King Charles Cavalier, who wants to know everyone and sniff just about everything. So it didn’t surprise me to see this other little Spaniel puppy in the park a few weeks ago, or that Doogie and her made friends straight away.
I just never expected her to be called Florence. You couldn’t write that.
Dougal and Florence love each other. They bounce around like they’re on zebedees springs, rolling over in the grass, digging holes, chasing balls, stealing sandwiches from picnics. Puppy Power at its finest.
Ahhhh, Dougal and Florence, so cute. On a sunny day, you can’t get a more uplifting sight than young love.
