Kate Moss: Nothing tastes as good as….

….SQUARE PIES!

In a week where Kate Moss has once again been caught up in a whole world of controversy, here is a refreshing picture to show that like the rest of us normal folk, lovely Kate from Croydon likes a good old pastry fix.

Kate Moss Pie

Now, if you are a regular reader of TLLWTL, you’ll know all about my girl crush on Miss Moss. I heart her. I love the way she doesn’t try too hard. I like the fact she gets it wrong. And I seriously think that the outrage over her recent statement has been blown WAY out of proportion. I mean, she’s a model, right? She is naturally waif-like…and it’s her job to stay super-skinny. She didn’t tell lots of teenage girls to starve themselves, or to run home after school to stick their fingers down their throat did she? That’s down to education about healthy eating – at home & at school. She simply mentioned her motto to help her avoid piling on the pounds. She also stated it didn’t work…but that bit went widely unreported.

Anyway. If you fancy gobbling on a lovely pie like Mossy, head along to your local Square Pie and tuck into one of their delicious creations. From 3rd December they are re-releasing their amazing Christmas Square Pie Full Turkey Roast…which will be available for the 7th year in a row. Get your chilly mitts on one from the Canary Wharf, Selfridges, Westfield, Twickenham and Spitalfields Market branches.

YUM!

I must say, I do think it was a bit of a careless comment for her to make. I also think she’s clearly never tasted my mother’s cooking, because that tastes mighty good, and at times I could give a crap if it keeps me skinny or not! A meal at my house is like a half hour of heaven!

“She didn’t tell lots of teenage girls to starve themselves” -> I agree with you. I think people totally over reacted over that. This statement does not intrisically lead me to starve myself and become anorexic. What she says might only encourage people who are already inclined towards under eating, who to start with, did not need a statement to trigger off their behaviour. For me, what she says means ‘there is nothing like the feeling of feeling skinny to make you feel good about yourself’ and I would totally agree. When I am 6 pounds lighter and can fit into my skinny jeans, I feel so pretty, gorgeous and sexy and I am pretty sure lots of women/girls who can fit in their most flattering clothes feel that way too.

I actually think that there’s nothing with her motto. Aside from being a supermodel, she is a real person and we all have little things that may not be the most politically correct to keep us motivated. Understandably, Kate needs to be more mindful of what she says as she’s in the limelight but essentially she is in the business of being skinny! I’ve written it on a post-it note and stuck it on my computer screen for motivation so I’m in support!
