I am shocked and saddened to hear the news that British fashion legend Alexander McQueen has committed suicide.
London born McQueen (born Lee Alexander) was a graduate of St Martins College, and one of Britains favourite and most highly respected Designers – winning British Designer of the Year 4 times.
According the The Daily Mail, a source at McQueen’s office this afternoon confirmed his death, saying: ‘It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.’
McQueens shocking death comes three years after the suicide of his close friend, Isabella Blow, and just days before the start of London fashion week. I can only imagine there will be a dark cloud hanging over the iconic event now.
On 3rd February, McQueen revealed on Twitter that his mother had passed away the day before and his most recent tweets indicated his state of mind – mentioning “a fucking awful week”. His Twitter page has now been deleted.
I have been a fan of McQueens work for years and am truly shocked by this news. My thoughts go out to his friends, family and the team who work with him.
RIP Alexander McQueen.

I just can’t believe it – so sad, he alwasy seemed like a lovely bloke and was so ridiculously talented, why does it always seem to come at a price?
