Gigging Bands: Final Call for Red Stripe Music Award…

The Red Stripe Music Award has been in full swing since late January and despite the line up having been picked at most of the regional live music venues, places are still up for grabs for gigs in March.

The Red Stripe gig series is set to run every weekend until late March 2010 with a final at a great London venue scheduled for April 29th.

With slots at three of the summer’s major festivals including The Great Escape guaranteed for the winner, The Red Stripe Music Award provides unknown bands and artists with a suitable platform and promotional support working with local promoters, press and music specialists.  Winners will also be receiving support from Arising Artists, Merc and Fender as well as some great help from Last Fm.

Bands wanting to take part should visit www.redstripe.net where there are details about all participating venues alongside regular updates on the gigs, footage, shortlists, finalists and special promotions.

Every band who applies for the Red Stripe Music Award will also be offered a 10% discount from ‘Arising Artists.’

Paul Brazier heads up the Red Stripe team and is thrilled to be working with Arising Artist.  “The Red Stripe Music Award is about providing emerging artists with an appropriate platform to be heard. Working with the consultants at Arising Artist will only help us achieve that goal and ultimately empower musicians everywhere.”

Last year’s winner, Ben Howard, has since been touring around America and Europe supporting the likes of Jason Mraz, Brett Dennen and Xavier Rudd…

Registration closes on the 26th March.

March dates still available:

25th Mar Dublin Castle London (Camden)
25th Mar The Queen’s Arms Kings Lynn
26th Mar Blue Porthtowan
