WHY: Great clothes, Great cause! Rous Iland, members’ boutique, will be showcasing highlights and key pieces from the much awaited Spring/Summer 2010 collection. The evening will be in aid of UNICEF, the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights in more than 190 countries. Drinks from 6.30pm and the catwalk show will begin at 8pm sharp. WHAT: Lee Mack – Going Out Tour
WHERE: Hammersmith Apollo
WHEN: 12th March, 2010
WHY: Critically acclaimed BAFTA-winning star of BBC One’s Not Going Out and Would I Lie To You? returns to the live stage with a hotly anticipated new show. Lee will be bringing his trademark brand of high energy banter, well crafted gags and sharp one-liners to venues across the country on his biggest ever live stand-up tour.

WHAT: Blood Sweat & Fears – A Live Magazine
WHERE: Carnaby Street
WHEN: 17-21st March, 2010
WHY: Because its an original and inspiring idea. The project will take elements of a traditional magazine and produce them as live events – encouraging public participation and breaking barriers between artist and audience. As well as a timetable of live events across five days – including interactive photoshoots, live music performances and installation art – the space will act as a pop-up shop selling the work of young artists and designers.  A proportion of all sales will go to Art Against Knives.

WHAT: The Vitality Show

WHY: Because t’s the UK’s largest health, beauty, fitness, healthy eating and wellbeing event of the year! There are loads of fantastic attractions to visit and things to be seen. I know I’ll be heading straight for a pamper package…and after that…who knows? Tickets are available here.

WHAT: Walk for Skin at The Vitality Show
WHERE: Earls Court 2, London
WHEN: 18-21st March, 2010
WHY: Since 2005, Sanex has been working with the British Skin Foundation to promote the importance of keeping your skin healthy. As part of this work, Sanex has supported the Walk for Skin each year (visit www.walkforskin.org.uk) to help raise as much money as possible to fund the British Skin Foundation’s ongoing essential research into skin disease. Sanex are sponsoring this year’s Style Theatre at The Vitality Show and are putting on their first ever CatWalk for Skin show to launch the 2010 Walk for Skin. The CatWalk for Skin is a catwalk with a difference. Rather than showing off the season’s latest fashion styles, Sanex commissioned World Body Painting Champion, Carolyn Roper, to create artistic illustrations of healthy skin. Her amazing creations accentuate and celebrate your essential first layer in all its natural naked glory.

WHAT: Mad Hats & Moustaches

WHY:  The Mad Hatters Tea Party is back and this time they will be jigging, frolicking, sipping tea-tinis, nibbling cupcakes and generally making merry in aid of The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation. Summer Holiday and White Collar Weapons will be playing live sets. Get tickets early to avoid disappointment…and don’t forget your hat!

WHAT: Be a Local Tourist
WHERE: Greenwich
WHEN: 20-28th March 2010
WHY:  A host of popular Greenwich attractions, cultural venues and restaurants are throwing open their doors and offering special discounts and promotions to entice locals to explore the rich heritage and culture available right on their doorstep. “Be a local tourist” coincides with the launch of two exciting attractions in Greenwich – Discover Greenwich, a new interpretation centre bringing the heritage of the area to life through interactive displays and the newly designed Tourist Information Centre.

WHY:  The infamous Ideal Home Show returns to Earls Court after a huge revamp. Expect celebrities, seminars, Food, Gadgets, Gardens, Interiors and just about everything else you could imagine. An event thats not to be missed.

WHAT: White Mischief 3rd Birthday
WHERE: Scala, Kings Cross
WHEN: 27th March 2010
WHY:  White Mischief is celebrating its third birthday! Opening its doors at 9pm sharp, the night will be curated by “tribal pop” band Tough Love and features multiple themed, decorated rooms where performance and music explode out of every corner. Having earned the reputation as one of London’s key alternative nights –  White Mischief draws upon a decadent fashion sense embracing the aesthetic known as Steampunk, in which revellers in neo-Victorian outfits evoke the romantic ideals of Jules Verne and the industrial age. Costume inspiration is drawn from the period’s ladies and gentlemen, scientists, explorers, exhibitionists, exhibits and discoveries from around the Empire. Think bustles, dresses, corsets, top hats, tails and waistcoats… (Dressing up is always encouraged but by no means compulsory – attendees are entitled to a 20% discount at Prangsta Costumier in London’s New Cross). WHAT: London Burlesque Week: Battle Royale Newcomers Afterparty
WHERE: Proud Cabaret, EC3R 7AH
WHEN: 23rd April 2010
WHY: An all-star line-up of international sensations has been announced; the vintage art of seduction will be interspersed with circus routines, mime, swing dancing, spoken and physical comedy and theatre. Performers include Perth’s Sapphire Demure, Helsinki’s Lola Manchego and London’s very own Beau Burlington; as well as male acts Paco Fish and Swingcopation. Proud Cabaret will be open for dinner from 6pm and the after party will commence at 11pm, with special offers on for the duration of the festival.
