In my opinion, British Summer leaves a lot to be desired. By the look of the sky today we have seen the best of the summer and should pack up our scanty clothing and drag back out the woolies. Unless of course, like me, you are coming down with a bad case of Festival Fever…
I love festivals. Love love love. I love getting muddy. I love camping. I love drinking with a BBQ breakfast and I love waking up with a tent dripping on my head. I love wearing scanty …
That’s right ladies and gents, it’s that time of the season again to prepare ourselves for the FA Cup Final. This season, which will see the 129th FA Cup Final, will see two teams who are at polar opposites in the Premiership battle it out for the trophy. But what’s gone on, particularly with Portsmouth, that has led to such a catastrophic fall from grace in as little as two years, and how have Chelsea improved to become Premier League Champions again?
For Chelsea, it’s been a return to the Mourinho-era …
We’ve all done it. We’re sitting on the tube or the bus, the iPod is on and the music is loud. You have nothing better to do or fix your attention on, and before you know it your head’s nodding, your fingers tapping and your feet moving. At least I always am. But then I got to thinking about the effect music has on people when they’re using public transport. People react in many different ways when listening to music, something which I find fascinating. So one evening on the …
I must apologise for the lack of…well…anything much recently.
Organising the charity event (which went fabulously and raised lots of £££ for Macmillan and Breast Cancer) really wiped me out and after some conversations with my friends and Doctors I realised I needed some time out. So, I flew over to Ibiza for a couple of days to relax with some red wine and great friends…had a quiet but lovely 31st birthday with the best people possible and spent the rest of my time trying to rest and get through.
That’s the problem with …
OK, OK, so you were all right. I needn’t have worried. I’ll listen to you all in future, I promise…you’re a wise bunch.
The Parents are lovely! Not sure why I was expecting otherwise – after all, their son is pretty cool. But they’re everything you’d hope for; kind, funny, chatty, generous….and absolutely fabulous hosts.
In all it really was a fabulous weekend – the sun even came out for us on Saturday, which was highly unexpected but provided perfect mooching weather for our little stroll through Galway City Centre. We explored …
The time has come.
This afternoon, The Boy and I are flying off to Ireland…to meet his folks.
Considering I don’t even see much of my own parents, this is a pretty big deal for me. I get a bit nervous around proper grown ups. I don’t know what to say. What if they don’t like me? What if I do something wrong and embarrass myself? What if they don’t think I’m good enough for their little soldier?!
It’s The Boys Daddy’s Birthday too, so we’re off out to celebrate. Eeeeek. There’s so …
OK…so due to the operation on Monday, I’m running a lot late on this one, and only have 3 days left to submit a fantabulous and creative idea for this weeks challenge. Ooooh, the pressure!
But, do you know what? I think it will be OK.
Because who have I got on my team? YOU!
So, here are the details for the first challenge on our Awesome Tour of Sydney; Sydney Cricket!
What is it?
Sydney Cricket is a simple game you can play anywhere. All you need to get started is a coin and an idea …
They say you don’t get anything for nothing in this life. That’s not always true….
I was recently contacted by the lovely people at 1000 heads, who are currently working on a fabulous project in conjunction with NSW Tourism – the Awesome Tour of Sydney.
They selected a handful of like minded bloggers with an interest in travel, and have offered us the chance to win a FREE holiday to Australia, plus another one to offer as a prize for YOU, my lovely readers. How very awesome is that??
Over the next 6 weeks …
The Boy and I have had a few disagreements since our holiday. We never argued before we went.
I suspect it has something to do with spending approximately 408 hours in each others company. Just us. No friends on the phone, no escape to work, no time in the other room. Just me and you baby. For 16 days. Plus flights.
Wow. I haven’t been on a two week, one place, lay down and do absolutely nothing with a boyfriend since I was 18. And he was an arse. So whilst I was excited …
I really, really needed this holiday.
I know I know, I’m “lucky” not have the typically stressful 9-5 work day. I don’t have to set an alarm, battle with a commute, or deal with Management dramas anymore. But I promise my life is still pretty tough, even if its not in the conventional sense. Constant appointments with Doctors, Specialists and Solicitors take their toll. My days consist of endless money worries, form-filling, repeating myself and remembering which medication to take when – and my nights are spent not sleeping trying to …
