I am lazy.
This is not a surprise to most of you. My love of a short-cut/cheat/wonder product is no surprise. Nor is my lack of patience. I like to look presentable…sure. But do I like to spend hours making myself that way? No. Not often.
I’ve never been a particularly “girlie” girl. OK, I love being pampered, but am not particularly good at spending hours doing my own make up, or hair. I suspect I need my own entourage, to take care of all that business for me (This is a joke…but wouldn’t it be fabulous?!)
So anyway. One of the things I have the least patience with is my hair. I have had a few unfortunate accidents with mean hairdressers over the years…the result of which means that my hair seems to be bodge-cut every time it starts growing. I spend a few years paying out a fortune for hair extensions, but thousands of pounds later had to make the decision to stop. I tried clip in hair extensions that work out much cheaper and look great on other people, but because my hair is so thick (it is MASSIVE) they just won’t work on me.
I was almost ready to face the fact that I might just have to wait another 3 years for my hair to pass that annoying shoulder length stage and finally reach glamorous, bum-length loveliness…until I was introduced to Hot-Hairs 3/4 length hair piece.
A-MAZE.
Now. The first thing I will say – is that the photo’s on the website do not do this product justice. In fact, without being too rude, they make it look a little 90′s. And if I hadn’t seen the results in real life, I probably wouldn’t have been convinced. But seriously…if you want instant, dramatic, luscious long locks in a matter of seconds, this is the solution for you!
The hair-piece isn’t a full wig, so you don’t get too hot when you wear it out. You simply attach it by sliding the zig-zag hairband into the front section of your hair, securing it at the back, and voila – you are good to go. OK, so it may take a couple of practice goes to make sure it’s 100% secure, but once you have the knack it’s totally simple.
The only problems you are left with with this particular product, is that the way it’s secures leaves an obvious join. But there are easy solutions for this. You can either leave a front section loose and create either a swept over parting or pull it back and clip it in place to create a bumped fringe, or you can do what I choose to, and cover the join with a hairband.
I absolutely love mine. It’s perfect for if you make a last minute decision to go out and don’t have time to create a masterpiece with your own hair, or if you just feel like looking a bit different. The hair they use is synthetic so you do need to be a little careful about taking care of it, but I’ve had no problems so far so it can’t be that hard. There are also a whole range of colours to choose from, making it easy to blend into your own shade.
It’s not a subtle look, and not the kind of thing I’d put on to pop down to the supermarket, but I absolutely love it for going out on a fun night with the girls and the boys seem to like it too. Considering hair extension used to cost me £500 on a regular basis, and this will set you back just £85.00…it has to be considered a BARGAIN!
