Elemis Day Spa say it is. So, always up for testing a theory, I headed down there to try it out for myself.
The Elemis team state that their “pain-free” technique is due to two factors; the hot wax they use, combined with their waxing method. The team are trained meticulously and have lots of experience, plus an excellent reputation, so you have to have a little faith.
First of all, the salon and the atmosphere are both lovely. The rooms are larger than average, with a super-chilled feel, and the decor is reminiscent of Thailand or Bali. Puts you in the ideal state of mind.
Now. I will state this right now. This wax is NOT pain free. If it was, it would be magic. However – it is a heck of a lot better than other waxes I have had in the past. Apparently, I have “stubborn hairs”, but even with that pleasant little fact in mind the process was completed in minimal time, and with no squealing at all. I was genuinely surprised. In a good way.
I would definitely return to the Elemis Day Spa for another waxing, or to try out their other services. It is a little more expensive than some of the other salons around (£35.80 for a standard bikini wax) – but you do get what you pay for. Especially in London.
