If not, where have you been all Summer? Florence and the Machine have been wowing festival goers and music lovers across the country this year, so when I was presented with the oppertunity to see what the fuss is about, I jumped at the chance.
The wonderful people over at American Express introduced me to their ‘Preferred Seating’ programme, which meant I was on the receiving end of some priority booking for Florence’s breathtaking gig at Somerset House. As part of it’s Preferred Seating programme, American Express provides priority tickets, the best seats and meet and greet opportunities at a host of music and cultural events throughout the year. The idea being to give people access to really memorable experiences that they can share with their friends and family.
This gig didn’t fail to disappoint. With an incredible setting, floating vintage costumes being caught in the wind and unfaltering notes, Florence not only took our breath away, but she had our hearts thoroughly pounding along with her drum. Reproducing
favourite tracks, such as ‘Dog Days Are Over’ and ‘Rabbit Heart’ without missing any of those incredible notes, Florence and her Machine had the audience singing along, despite the threat of rain. Within the walls of Somerset House you could easily forget you were in the heart of London and completely lose yourself in the music.
