As many of you will hopefully now know, I (Teeny Tiny) have my own events company, which I started from scratch. Now this isn’t a post to plug my own stuff, I would never do that. However, if you were interested the web page can be found by clicking here. The main reason I am writing this particular blog is to plug something else. Or rather, someone.
Part of the reason I have done so well with these endeavors is due to the fab logo the company has, which was kindly donated by a very good friend of mine. Most people don’t realise how many illustrations we come across in day to day life, especially since the recession as it is cheaper to higher an illustraitor than to hire models/actors, photographers etc to do an entire shoot. So London is covered with illustrations. Everywhere you look there is an illustration. From where I am sitting I can see several: my Wii Fit box, DVD covers, Easter Egg boxes (yes, I know it was weeks ago. I’m on a diet don’t you know) and of course book covers.
Georgie Fearns has an amazing talent for taking an idea and bringing it to life in her own unique style. She draws out whatever key feeling you want the piece to portray and amplifies it beyond what your imagination could have wanted. If you want cute, she gives you adorable. If you want sexy, she can give you smouldering hot. I asked for a Speed Dating Flyer and she created the two eye catching flyers at the bottom of this post.
Since designing the logo for The Teeny Tiny Party Company, Georgie Fearns has also done several flyers for me, including Speed Dating, but has also been snapped up by other companies to create masterpieces for them. An amazing example of this is the Bowling for Boobies poster (at the top of this page), for which Georgie took no money but did a cracking job. She has also done many a book cover, including Charlotte Ward’s ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’, a series of Kathy Lette books and Samantha Scott-Jeffries’ ‘I do, I do, I do’ and the sequel, which will be released soon (and promises to be a fantastic read!).
So this post is just a big fat thank you to Georgie, for working so hard and for creating such wonderful pieces of art. Thank you Georgie, for making our world much, much brighter.
