I was very lucky to be invited recently to a party to celebrate the launch of the gorgeous Fearne Cottons new range for very.co.uk which was a heady mix of Apple Martinis, celeb spotting and clothes that were a feast for my beady eyes!
The fashion show kicked off to a super-cool soundtrack, specially selected by Fearne herself, and every garment showed traces of that that rock n roll style that Fearne is renowned for….set to a backdrop of a drum kit and guitars. Ace.
What I was most impressed with was the passion that Fearne obviously has for her designs. Every idea was originally sketched by her, and she was completely involved with the development of each piece – something that I believe is a rarity with most celebrity fashion collaborations!
The fabric textures were gorgeous and varied, from sheer black, to metallic silver, with some wool, stripes and leopard print making an appearance too. The models were unsurprisingly stunning, a vision in red lipstick, ankle socks and rock chic. Each piece was incredibly wearable, and I can see them flying off very.co.uk‘s shelves quicker than you can say cotton! Here are some of my favourite pieces;
I have to say, after seeing these clothes first hand, I personally don’t think these pictures do them total justice, which is a bit of a shame…as they really are very cool up close!
As a little treat, we were also treated to the first viewing of the Converse Shoes Fearne has designed in collaboration with Very…they are AMAZING! I definitely want a pair…just a shame we have to wait til 2010 to order them…
